About This Station
The station is powered by a Texas Instruments WRL-128S weather station. The data is collected every 1 second and the site is updated every 5 minutes. This site and its data is collected using Weather Display Software. Data is uploaded to the web via Weather Display running on an Intel Dual Core computer. The weather station comprises of an anemometer, rain gauge, solar radiation sensor, barometer and a thermo-hydro sensor situated in optimal positions for highest accuracy possible.
On Oct 1st 2006 we added to our station a Boltek Lightning detector with Nexstorm software. This system can detect, track and plot lightning on a map up to 375 miles away.
All weather equipment is connected to UPS battery backups. In the event of a power outage, weather data should continue to be updated for approximately one hour.
